Terms of service
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. The service
MarketAPI ("we") provides MarketAPI: an API with latest and historical market prices (forex, metals, indices, stocks, crypto and other instruments), a free tier, WebSocket streaming, and signed price reports for on-chain use ("the oracle"). By creating an account or using the API you agree to these terms.
2. Your account and API keys
You must give accurate details and keep your password, two-factor codes and API keys secret. You are responsible for all use of your keys; if one is exposed, rotate it in your dashboard straight away. One account per person or organisation, unless we agree otherwise.
3. Credits, prices and payment
- The service is prepaid. Requests use credits as shown on the pricing page; you are charged only for data actually returned. Free credits are used first.
- We may change prices with notice on the pricing page. Credits already bought keep the price at which they were bought.
- Top-ups are non-refundable once credits have been used. Unused paid balance may be refunded on request when you close your account, minus payment-network or processor fees, except where the law gives you more rights.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe or Paddle; crypto payments are final once confirmed on the network you chose.
4. Acceptable use
- Stay within the rate limits and do not try to get around them, for example with multiple accounts or keys.
- Do not resell, redistribute or publish the raw data as a data feed or competing service without our written permission. Displaying prices inside your own application, website, dashboard or smart contract is allowed.
- No attacks, scraping of the website, reverse engineering of the service, or use that breaks the law.
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with notice where reasonable.
5. Data and accuracy
Prices come from third-party liquidity providers and brokers. Every quote carries a freshness status (LIVE, STALE, MARKET_CLOSED), but data can be delayed, interrupted, incomplete or wrong. The data is for information only and is not financial, investment or trading advice. You are responsible for how you use it, including any trading decision, and you should check it against other sources where it matters.
6. The on-chain oracle
Signed reports are valid only for a short time and only for the network and contract named in them. Smart contracts, blockchains and wallets carry their own risks (bugs, network congestion, fees, failed transactions). You use the oracle and any contract that relies on it at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own contract's safety checks.
7. Availability
We work to keep the service fast and available, but it is provided without a guaranteed uptime (no service-level agreement) unless agreed in writing. We may change or improve features; for changes that break existing integrations we will give reasonable notice, and versioned API paths (/v1/) stay stable.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or trading losses, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time from your dashboard or by contacting us. We may end the service for an account with 30 days' notice, or immediately for serious breach of these terms.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and for important changes we will e-mail account holders beforehand. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, without removing protections you have as a consumer where you live.
